About Rev. Rochelle Shakti

rochelle

When Rev. Rochelle Shakti could no longer accept the emptiness of her own life, she began her spiritual pilgrimage. Leaving behind her comfortable, mainstream lifestyle, Rochelle studied many traditions. She studied Kabbalah fervently under the guidance of Reb Zalman Schachter, a Hasidic Master, and was the Coordinator of his Wisdom School as well as his personal secretary. Her understanding of Native American teachings was enhanced by her studies with RainbowHawk Linton and she has explored mystical teachings with Shakmah Winddrum of S.E.E.D. Sanctuary, as well as A Course in Miracles. Rochelle was ordained at the New Seminary in New York as an Interfaith Minister where she studied many cultures and traditions. Her parents were of different religions, so that as a young child she came to understand that a family can live in harmony, not in spite of, but because of the rich variation in beliefs. She is a student of SiBok, Robert Kassof; the founder of Golden Breath American Tai Chi and has been privileged to become an instructor under SiBok’s tutelage. Rochelle is also a Reiki practitioner. She believes that the role of “teacher and student” is intertwined and continues her studies on a regular basis. The enlightenment and wisdom she has gained through her pilgrimages to India and Israel, her experiences as a wife and mother and her spiritual quest have been skillfully integrated into her teachings, healings, ceremonies and spiritual coaching. Most recently, Rochelle is training in the chaplaincy program of the University of Pennsylvania Health System.
